All advantages at a glance:
Maximum efficiency and user-friendliness
The HAF/2 is a semi-automatic milling machine, which was specially developed for the preparation of non-ferrous samples. The HAF/2 is the “workhorse” in many laboratories worldwide and is used to produce perfect and reproducible sample surfaces for analysis by OES and XRF. The machine design allows for particularly simple and ergonomic operation of the machine. At the same time, great importance was attached to a high level of occupational safety.
Designed to produce perfect samples
The hydro-pneumatic system enables a particularly uniform milling feed, resulting in a particularly smooth specimen surface. After the milling process is completed, the clamping device is quickly returned to the starting position so that the sample can be taken by the operator. Since the machine is immediately available for the next sample, high throughput rates can be achieved with the HAF/2. The integrated frequency converter allows the rotation speed of the robust milling spindle to be easily adjusted with the help of a selector switch. The feed speed of the support is infinitely adjustable. If required for the milling process, a coolant can be applied to the specimen surface with pinpoint accuracy via a nozzle. All this allows for optimal adaptation of the milling parameters to the specific properties of each sample material.
Ergonomic design
The HAF/2 has an input flap, which can be easily opened with the help of a gas pressure spring and held securely in the open position. The milling chamber of the HAF/2 has a large opening. This makes it particularly easy for the operator to clamp the specimen in the chuck and adjust the milling depth. The three-jaw chuck allows the clamping of specimens with different geometries up to a diameter of 70 mm. After closing the input flap, the milling process is simply started at the touch of a button. The lining of the milling chamber has been designed in such a way that the chips are effectively discharged and collected in the drawer positioned below. The removal of the chips from the milling room is supported by an extraction system (optional), which is mounted inside the machine. The side cover can be removed in a few simple steps, so that the machine room is freely accessible for cleaning and maintenance activities.
High safety – low noise level
The HAF/2 sets standards for occupational safety. The semi-automatic milling process and the use of a safety switch on the input flap ensure the health and safety of the operating personnel. Noise emissions have been minimized, so that the machine can be easily integrated into a laboratory environment.
