  • Steel and pig iron specimens, round or with parallel faces

Operating mode

  • Automatic
  • Stand-alone operation
  • Robot Automation
  • FoundryLab

All advantages at a glance:

Excellent grinding technology

The HTS 3000 takes advantage of HERZOG’s grinding cup technology. After inserting a new sanding cup, the machine automatically sets the correct height position of the pot. During each grinding pass, the grinding cup position is automatically adjusted to ensure precise material removal.

The combination of coarse and fine grinding steps results in a perfectly machined sample surface for optical emission spectroscopy. The grinding process and cooling with compressed air have been optimized in such a way that short machining times can be guaranteed. In addition, the use of an abrasive cup reduces sample surface contamination to a minimum.

Monitoring of grinding cup wear

The operator can monitor the current level of wear of the grinding cup via the integrated machine panel and the PrepMaster Entry screen. This makes it possible to plan maintenance work in advance and replace the grinding cup at the optimal time.

Integration with automatic systems

The HTS 3000 has been designed for automatic operation. The machine is an integral part of the FoundryLab for automatic Sample Preparation and OES analysis of foundry samples. Here, samples are fed and dispensed into the HTS 3000 by means of a portal system. In addition, the HTS 3000 can also be integrated into robot automation.

Manual operation

The HTS 3000 can also be used as a stand-alone machine for semi-automatic operation. The samples can be easily entered from the outside via the flap. Further processing of the sample within the machine is fully automated. Once the grinding and cooling process is complete, the sample is placed back at the transfer position and can be removed by the operator.
